The 7:1 gear ratio might take some people a few casts to get used to, but in the end will likely win you over very quickly. The setup makes for a very smooth and consistent play in the lure when trying to put a little bit of action on it. Also, with little to no adjustment you will find that it is near impossible to get a backlash on your cast no matter how hard you try.

The design of the reel itself is very sharp looking. It has a very streamline design with a nice green, grey and brown color scheme. You won't have to worry about being ashamed when seen with the 200e7. Despite being small and light weight, it has a nice solid feel in your hand. It is clear that this reel is made to be one that you keep for years to come. It also seems to hold over very well with only regular upkeep.

I think that it's safe to say that this may be one of the last freshwater reels you buy and that Shimano has a lot work cut out for themselves if they plan on trying to out do their current Curado 200e7.
